Welcome to ThePolitic.com!

From a Manitoba perspective, I hope to bring the centre of the country forward a step or two spotlighting our political landscape. With that landscape, a Manitoban view of the nation will accompany.

My start into the political aspect of life began after I first read Atlas Shrugged. It was the book that connected the feeling of the world being off balance and why there was that offset.

If you read something of mine that you agree or disagree with, please comment, the discussion is the key element here. Enjoy!

The Cynic Who Barked Too Loud

Being a Canadian Cynic is a tough gig these days.  There has been quite a backlash against the anonymous lefty-blogger who recently ranted about a grieving mother who lost her son, a Canadian Solider in Afghanistan.
Wanda Watkins, who spoke to the press recently asking for the nation to hold the course and respect the sacrifices […]

Introducing: Economic Change Deniers

Earlier this week Minister John Baird was placed in front of a number of Liberal Senators, and charged with debating bill C-288, which would see Canada honour its’ Kyoto commitments 100% by the target dates outlined.
Minister Baird, still somewhat fresh in his position in Environment, did his homework. Knowing that he would be placed in […]

Garth Turner: “Harper is a political whore”

Garth has obviously had a time-sensitive filter installed as part of his Liberal upgrade. In the last couple of weeks Garth and readers of his blog have been debating how to address concerns of sharp opinion raised towards his party of old and commenters that are posting non-Liberal generated thoughts on his blog.
Unfortunately however […]

Suggested Liberal Strategy, Silent Blog

The blog of Garth turner has really taken a spiral down the toilet lately. He has been closing his eyes and swinging at anything blue and to the right. How much longer will the ‘Maverick’ have before his anger towards the old party slips up and costs him his Liberal-ness or his daily ramblings? My […]

Garth Turner: Loving Home Needed

For Garth Turner moving day came as a surprise. The former Tory, Independant and now Liberal hermit MP is trying to raise a fuss on his blog about being shifted away from the blue block in Ottawa.
His ramblings are long winded attempts at sympathy coupled with tax-spending Tory tales of the new letterhead, business cards, […]

Judiciary Valentine - No More Bleeding Hearts

Today in question peiod the Prime Minister was asked about the recent purposed changes to the selection of judges in Canada. The Tories have purposed that one chair be removed and replaced with a representation from law enforcement officials in the selecting of judges.
With the large pool of Liberal judges this country currently has on […]

The Liberal Green Plan: Greenhouse Cashes

Apparently when selecting the new Liberal green that been splashed all over the party’s communications lately, they looked to their past to choose. The preferred shade of green is still the $20 bill green even in the new Liberal party.
In a recent communication sent out by the the party they firmly place the guilt card […]

Manitoba Election, Around the Corner

Rumblings in and around the Manitoba Legislature suggest that Premier Gary Doer will drop the writ shortly on the next Manitoba election.
The Manitoba NDP convention takes place on February 2-4 where some general housekeeping is expected, including the collective nod to Gary Doer as the party’s leader. With that out of the way the election […]

Insane Racists Influence CBC Ratings

A glimpse of the inward looking personality of the mother corp was held up by the cool kid the other night on “The Hour”.
The Hour, broadcast on January 25th,  featured a little rant by show host George Stroumboulopolos about the network’s multicultural gem, Little Mosque on the Prairie. Praise is given to the new sitcom […]

CBC’s Discretionary Journalism

The big red phone that sits next to the CBC Ombudsman must have a problem with it. By all accounts, that phone should be ringing off the hook. But it seems more like a disconnected line.
The CBC in its journey to bring one side of the world’s events into Canadian homes every night, has chosen […]
