Warren Kinsella, Member of Parliament?

If you live in the Toronto area, Warren Kinsella may be coming to a riding near you.
Kinsella recently reaffirmed his intent to run for Parliament on behalf of the Liberal Party in the next federal election.
Readers of The Politic know that Kinsella is our dear friend. Two years ago, he launched our continuing Meet the Players series with a tour de force interview.
All of us will follow Kinsella’s campaign with great interest. And one/some/many of us actually hope he wins.
Does he carry any cache in the Liberal Party – I thought he burned that bridge a few years ago. Cheers.
I’ve pointed this out to him on his blog already, but it bears repeating.
There is a reason that he was beaten the first time he ran, and that reason is because he is a first-class jerk (just read his blog to see what I mean)…and that was before he insulted everyone with any kind of religious beliefs by waving around a Barney the Dinosaur doll on national TV and making sarcastic comments about Stockwell Day’s beliefs (which were greatly exaggerated, BTW). His blog is full of childish references to Little Timmy Hudak, Reformatories, Benedict Baldy (that’s Rocco Rossi), Conbots, etc. You’d think you had blundered into a teenager’s Facebook page, but no…that’s the “modern day Machiavelli” himself according to the half-page of ego-stroking quotes he displays. Truly a laughable, pathetic excuse for a grownup. No matter where he runs, he’s toast.
(and I told him to nuke his website before he tries, too; get rid of as many of the the glaring, inexcusable examples of his gross immaturity as possible and he might minimize the damage)
Perfect….. Sh!t From Hell to lead LIberal renaisance.
Let him run. At least he won’t be out on the streets or anything….heh
Why does a lawyer need a second job?

Warren is a ledgend in his own mind.

Can a leafership bid be far behind?
Absolutely Kinsella should run,
and Bob Rae should be the next leader of the LPC,
both hand picked by Chretien.
Then the LPC can continue to insult 54% of Canadians (in the ROC) and do battle with the NDP for seats in Quebec.
Kinsella + Rae == Ontario goes deeper blue
Go for it, fellas.
Warren’s getting itchy for a beating. Again. Oh he knows that he should have accepted the Senate perk from the shameless Shawingater but he evidently forgets how his ass was handed back to him the last time he was going to “rescue Ottawa”.
He flew into the so-called backwater called North Vancouver and pronounced then Conservative MP Ted White, dead on arrival. He boasted to every fawning media hack that he was moving his family here and he was now a permanent resident of the riding. He lied, he accussed, he totally vilified White, and he really thought that he could control anything he wanted in our little backwater.
He was trounced and immediately moved back to Toronto. Liberals!
Warren is drinking his own home made whine. Desperation is not pretty. Addiction to the spotlight is ugly.
If they picked Kinsella, the Liberal Party of Canada would break a pretty old tradition of alternating between English speaking candidates and French speaking candidates.
Some deny the tradition exists but…

There have been minor exceptions but they seem to stick to this pattern obviously.
Liberals need a quiet leader for a few years. Someone like Goodale.
The best thing they can do is give the conservatives the keys and let the NDP embarass themselves in opposition.
