Apple Warranties Compromised By Tobacco?

November 21, 2009 · By Martin Street

(Full disclosure: I own an iPhone, which is both amazing and meh. If you own one you know what I mean.)

If you own any Apple products and subject them to tobacco smoke on a regular basis, you may be interested to learn that according to this site Steve Jobs himself considers this to be a bona fide breach of your warranty, despite no language indicating this potential to void in the warranty itself. You might want to try a little Fabreeze before taking your product in for service.

Well, fine – do not need his products, anyway. I hope he croaks while texting someone while working out, choking on spinach.

    I don’t own any apple products and I’m 1 month and 1 week into being a non-smoker.

    Yeah for me X 2!

I’d say apple should do a better job communicating this to their clients since it is not illegal to smoke in your home.

It doesn’t surprise me in the least that a chain smoker’s computer would be filthy. I had to help out my father one time and I did actually notice the accumulation of cigarette crud in his PC. Here’s a link with images of what it looks like:

That being said, something tells me the mindless drones, including the smokers, will all line up and buy apple products just like they did before regardless of their policy.

Got something to say? (Read the rules first)
