As a young voter, I can tell you that Ryan is exactly the type of candidate that can help the Conservatives win this riding.

His youthfulness and sincerity is refreshing. He will certainly connect with younger voters like me, who are often forgotten or simply ignored.

He comes across is smart and fun. Linda Duncan is going to have her hands full…..

Non-Tories will be very leery about someone who claims to be centrist but willingly associates himself with Jason Kenney and Stockwell Day, whose previous claim to fame was costing AB taxpayers $800K defending against a libel case. I am also disappointed that Hastman’s response on as basic a question as his choice of greatest PM is to lick the boots of his erstwhile employer. Finally, to pick nits: Packrat Louie is a fine restaurant but hardly at the top in Edmonton’s foodie scene; it’s George Strait, not Straight; and Edm-Strathcona may be center right but is hardly a stronghold, unless you consider holding the riding with a minority of votes (as Jaffer did every time) to be a stronghold.

Mr. Hastman is the type of guy we should be watching as a rising star in the Conservative Party. This interview is a great demonstration of Hastmans abilities. A down to earth guy who works hard, understand government, and is in politics for the right reasons.

Great interview! Ryan seems like exactly the type of candidate the Conservatives need; young, smart, grounded, reasonable and committed. I’m sure the NDP will have their hands full with his campaign.
