Leaders of the world’s eight foremost industrialized economies have established an aggressive new marker in the battle against climate change: holding the global temperature to a two-degree-Celsius increase.
Good luck with that.

It’s impossible to measure or achieve, but that is irrelevant. We’re politicians, and we’re taking action.
I have supported and voted for the Tories , but lately PM Harper seems to only be slobbering behind idiot Obama .
Perhaps in his busy day he could read this book to bring some reality to is brain before committing Canada to economic suicide.

Harper isn’t as stupid as it first appears. According to the reports I have been reading, we are about to enter a period of extended global cooling so keeping temperatures to a 2 degree rise should be a no brainer. After all, the temperature has gone up less than that average over the last century.
As long as China and India stay out of any game played, whatever the G8 does or says will have little meaning.
BTW, they no longer call it global warming officially?
Climate change just about covers everything doesn’t it?
Uh oh! Look out! El Nino is back! This means temperatures are going to rise again due to this recognized natural phenomenon, but you know that the “Climate Change” experts will revert back to “Global Warming” experts again.

all this talk of keeping the global temp to 2 deg or less is really pissing me off. for a hundred years we have attempted to micro manage the financial system to supposedly benefit the whole of society, mostly to create a welfare state. fast forward to today of trying to artificially reduce global temps by using the same corrupted financial system and tell me now that were not in for the largest increase in ranks of welfare usage and fascist dictate in human history. we really need to shoot greenies before they kill us all!!!

you are absolutely right mark peters. i sincerely DO NOT condone nor do i really wish the shooting of anyone. that part of my comment is definitely out of line and for that i apologize.
However, if these environmental infringements upon our basic liberties begin to negatively affect families and whole communities you just might see the beginnings of revolution, particularly where starvation sets in. its extreme but history is unfortunately replete with examples.
