Liberals spin media, avoiding Election 2009

June 16, 2009 · By Charles Anthony

I have to laugh at all of the spin:

“We’ve made some progress today,” said Jill Fairbrother, spokesman for Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff.

Yet, this is what PM Harper said on that same day:

Harper even wisecracked about the vagueness of Ignatieff’s demands. It is “very difficult to respond to an ultimatum that contains no ultimatum,” said Harper. “Usually, you say `do X, or else.’ You don’t just say `or else.’”

As it became apparent that Harper was not going to enter into extensive compromises to meet Ignatieff’s demands, senior Liberal sources insisted they are ready to plunge into an election campaign, even though Canadians are opposed to another vote so soon after the last one, and one during an economic recession.

First clue that the unelected leader of the opposition blew it yesterday:
CTV is not running clips of Iffy’s demands every 1/2 hour,
follwed by Bob Fife running down Harper and reminding us that Liberals are ahead in the polls, followed by Marci Ian …..etc

LOL… I was watching a movie/cartoon with my 3 year old son and a speech one of the characters in Shrek made totally rang true of the Liberal Party of Canada… “Many of you may not survive but it’s a sacrafice I’m willing to make…”

Later will listening to the sound track to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang I heard what many could argue is the current Liberal stratagy and theme song “up from the ashes, up from the ashes, grow the roses of success.”… there are some real zingers in the verses of the song that apply today and even 30 years ago to the LPoC

Got something to say? (Read the rules first)
