How To Break Up An Unruly Mob In Two Easy Steps

May 10, 2009 · By

If these people are going to act like a bunch of spoiled children and insist on bringing their problems into the country (and onto the Gardiner), send those who aren’t citizens back to where they can deal with their homeland problems first-hand, and send those who are citizens packing to the nearest prison since they should, by definition, know better. There are ways to express your views and blocking off a major highway half-way around the world from the actual incident in question until a world leader meets with you is not the answer and shouldn’t even be tolerated for even a second!

The Tamils have also been disrupting traffic on RenĂ©-Levesque Boulevard near the American embassy in Montreal. People in hotels nearby and offices are continually subjected to screams of “Genocide” and loud drumming for hours and hours on end.

Why are they not demonstrating in Ottawa in front of the Sri Lanka embassy or in front of the Chinese embassy which supplies arms to the Sri Lanka government?

I agree Matthew, it is not our problem. Our problem is a bunch of people who are “guests in our home” who are disrupting our lives with their “sill ass” problems. As far as I can tell they are noisly “demanding” our Government “do something” I also would like our government to “do something” DEPORT THEM ALL .

You’re so Draconian! I like it!

Under the McGuinty government, Indians are off-limits. He didn’t touch them in Caledonia. He won’t touch them in Toronto.

    Oops, different kind of Indians.

Actually, the Indians from India are really nice people. They want their children to have a good education and are hard-working.

Yeah roger..maybe so..but these Tamils, bused in by the thousands on working days, are hardly the industrious type.As they are arrested, check their immigration status. If they are found to be in breach of the act, deport them.

Bill Blair looks like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.He is waaaay over his head in dealing with this situation.I think this is going to get ugly. The Tamils state they will not be removed from the highway..

Get these bums off the streets! They are probably breaking a minimum of a half-dozen laws and it’s high time we sheep demanded that these laws be enforced.
Even better would be to reopen the expressway and make it clear that anyone who happens to run over one of these insurrectionists will not be charged with any offense.

I can understand why people are mad about the inconvenience, the massive cost and complications blocking the Gardiner caused many people but I think we are going too far in down playing what is happening to the Tamils.
If you were to list reasons for people to completely “lose it”, genocide in their home country would definitely be one of them.
Many Tamils are legitimate Canadian citizens, some of whom are conservatives. When we make the following comments
    “guests in OUR home”
    “deport them all”
    “run them over”
it’s clear people are using non-Canadian rhetoric.
I think the tactics are inappropriate but we don’t need to start acting like we need to “ship” any form of Canadian out.

I think the most interesting part of this story is that some reports have stated that most of the protesters are young children of immigrants. If that’s true, it’s certainly an interesting scenario where a portion of the activists have a certain disconnect between the reality they live in Canada, and the reality of what’s going on in Sir Lanka.

Greg, please complete the thought because this is interesting.
Are you trying to say that since these young people were born in Canada, and live in tranquility in Canada, that they need not know about the issues in the home country of their parents. What about blood relations that may be at risk?

The thing that boils me is that what’s going on there is wrong and we are more upset about the highway blockage than the murder of thousands of civilians. I think it demonstrates a ‘nintendo-esque’ desensitization of certain people towards fellow human beings.
Run them over… how many points does that get you on Sundays?

Matthew, you never cease to amaze me with your self-assured convictions over matters you know nothing about.

Okay James, I’ll bite — care to elaborate?

Got something to say? (Read the rules first)
