Turncoat Arlen Specter – Shamlessly Exploiting Jack Kemp’s Death

May 9, 2009 · By

Ed Morrissey, over at Hot Air, on the Democrat’s newest congressman, Arlen Specter

Arlen Specter all but accused the GOP of killing Jack Kemp for not increasing health research spending more than 46% over the six years between 2001-6, almost as much as they increased defense spending (48%). At the time, Specter also launched his new website, Specter for the Cure, which gave the appearance of raising money for cancer research but actually raised money for his re-election campaign.

I love how a guy is corrupt to his ears as a republican for 29 years and you don’t hear a thing about it. Suddenly the guy switches to democrat and it all comes out.
Hopefully the dems run someone against this scum bag and put him out of his misery next primary.

From what I understand, he was going to face tough competition in the Republican primary, which was the primary reason he crossed the floor to the Democrats.

I wouldn’t count Republican candidate, Pat Toomey, who ran against Specter in 2004, as a pushover. There are going to be a lot of people who want to see Specter out of the Senate in 2010.

Agreed. The democrats can’t stand the guy either. I’m saying, run a real democrat against him so he isn’t even on the ticket against the republican.
Even in his press conference, the theme was about self preservation rather than issues. He isn’t even voting with the democrats now so what’s the use?
