New Poll: Tories and Liberals Tied in Popular Support?
February 11, 2009 · By Shane Edwards
Where have I heard this before?
Oh yeah. Right before the ’08 election when the Tories gained ~25 seats and the Libs scored their lowest popular support EVER.
Colour me skeptical.

That poll reports the Green Party in first place in Quebec? I’m not sure I’d put much faith in the numbers or assume they’d translate into anything at the ballot box. Next…
The poll may be wrong, but if you think there isn’t a problem brewing with the CPC vis-a-vis the Liberals, and that it will all be fine just like last time, then you are in denial.
There are problems. The CPC and especially Mr. Harper better get their game up, or Mr. Ignatieff will be waltzing to an election victory in 6-12 months while the media cheers him on.
This is not the same as the fall of 2008. It’s a new game, and we will not be getting more own goals from a Liberal leader a-la Dion.
From the link:
“It’s not surprising, given the Liberals have a new leader who seems to have avoided some of the mishaps and traps that were laid for him and that his predecessor stepped in.”
Is Mr. Donolo from the Strategic Counsel poll kidding me? Iggy didn’t avoid any mishaps? How about that biggest one of all, called the coalition? That disaster had Iggy’s fingerprints and support all over it.
This is so typical of left-wing leaning polls.
Iffy has had lots of face time in the media, the increased numbers are soft.
High expectations will burst when Iffy has to actually do something other than mark the other guy’s papers.
Iffy is a rookie and a tourist, and only slightly taller than Dion.
