The CBC is in Love with Obama – Get a Room Already…

January 14, 2009 · By

Seriously – have the CBC executives lost their minds? They want Canadians to create a mix-tape for Obama? This idea is so stupid even the CBC morning crew from the Calgary Eyeopener commented on how this “contest” really brings into question the CBC’s objectivity.

Beginning Monday, January 5, CBC Radio 2 invites Canadians to help select the top “49 songs from north of the 49th parallel” that would best define our country to the incoming U.S. President Barack Obama.

His playlist could definitely benefit from some Canadian content, especially given the depth of our musical offerings – spanning a wide variety of genres and representing our culture from coast to coast.

“One of the best way to know Canada is through the depth and breadth of our artistic expression,” says Denise Donlon, Executive Director, CBC Radio. “We’re excited about the new President and we want him to be excited about us, so we’re asking our audience to help compile the list of our most definitive Canadian songs!”

It’s hard to imagine the CBC getting this “excited” if John McCain had won.

First of all, I think the contest is very, very weak. It smacks of a very young child that has developed a crush on a much older neighbor and sends them a gift saying This is how I feel about you and how you make me feel.”

To say that it’s a little childish hits very close to the mark, and quite frankly, I think it projects an “immature neighbor” attitude to the United States.

Second, as much as I am pleased to see Barack Obama as President, I’m not going to gush over it, or him. And Greg, you’re spot on about how the CBC likely wouldn’t be this kind of excited over John McCain. But then, it’s no surprise to Canadians that the CBC definately has that bent.

What I find hilarious, however, is that the United States Democrats have far more in common with Canadian Conservatives than any other party in Canada. In fact, they find the NDP and Liberal brands of philosophy a little repugnant. Even Michael Ignatieff has said how happy he is to be in Canada where being a Liberal isn’t a dirty word.

Given that, and this young love of the CBC for President-Elect Obama, I wonder why they have such a hate-on for Conservatives?

Like a majority of Americans, a majority of Canadians seem pleased that the US has a literate, articulate, and intelligent president. Terrible, ain’t it?

Literate? Articulate? You must be joking. Take the teleprompter away from him and he’s an “um, um….ah….um” idiot.

Thank you for the link Greg. I NEVER watch the CBC so I was unaware of this latest idiocy by the Communist Bimbo’s Corporation. More taxpayer dollars going toward the embarrassment of all Canadians.

Cut the funding PM Harper! Put the CBC out of its misery and kill it.

An example of the one-sided coverage by the media. Here is the question of the day on my homepage:

    Question of the Day
U.S. President Barack Obama starts his first full day in office on Wednesday. What should be first on his to-do list?
Resolving wars in Iraq and AfghanistanRepairing the U.S. economyShutting GuantanamoBasking in the glow of a great inaugurationNot sure

Where is the option for sending Obama to the moon for being the biggest fraud of a President since Carter?

I’m going to take a wild guess and suggest that you haven’t read his books.

Obama had help from the terrorist writing that sack of crap book:

    http://www.americanthinker.com.....wrote.html

“A newly discovered book chapter from 1990 that shows clearly and painfully the limits of Obama’s prose style the year he received a contract to write Dreams.”

Got something to say? (Read the rules first)
