Harper Was Right. SURPREEZ!

December 5, 2008 · By

Although I don’t read the Post on a regular basis, this story was just too great to pass up. Apparently, the vast majority of Canadians side with the Harpers on the issue of financing political parties.

A clear majority of Canadians believe that political parties should not be funded by the public purse, according to a new poll that suggests Prime Minister Stephen Harper was on the right track when he eliminated the subsidy, sparking outrage from the opposition parties.

Sixty-one per cent of voters said they oppose federal political parties securing $1.95 annually for each vote, which is a major source of party funding.

The plot thickens?

How is the plot thickening? This is as plain as the nose on your face. Why the hell should taxpayer money fund the campaign coffers of any political party? Raise your own damn money like any other organization.

Harper was seen as a “bully” for THIS? The libs are such pansies that they can’t wrap their head around this concept. I call it strength. I call it doing what he was elected to do. I call it the right thing to do. Let the welfare-addicted-libs and ndp’ers learn how to go out and pound the pavement for their campaign funds.
