The Subconscious of a Conservative
October 15, 2008 · By Charles Anthony
I believe that every true conservative subconsciously shares a set of ethics that can be more profound than what its detractors have to offer. However, presenting a concrete definition of what constitutes a “conservative” is a challenge.
My intention with this series is to analyze certain long-held customs or common beliefs which I fear undermine the definition of a conservative — whatever that is — as a valid label because they seem to be applied poorly, in my opinion.
This post will serve mainly as a dynamic table of contents of individual topics:
Free trade and international trade
Immeasurable Government
The Free Market
Family Values
Immigration
Freedom, Rights and Responsibilities
Education
Military, Justice, Law or Order
Environmental Issues suggested by Adam Dyck
Thanks go out to Aaron Unruh for previous foray in the topic, Frank Monozolai for a challenging debate and of course, to Barry Goldwater for inspiring the title.
Comments on this post are open but please confine them to suggestions of future topics.

I would suggest the topic of environmental policies (or lack thereof). However, I must ask what you are considering conservative in this project. Libertarians? Social Conservatives? Both? Neither?
Truthfully, I do not know who should be included in the discussion and who should be omitted. That is what we can explore.
Other issues would be taxation, unless you intend to include that within the Free Market, and Democratic Reform (which, if we are focusing on Canadian conservatives, would include Senate Reform as well, I would think).
How about “Democracy and Government Financing” for a working title? That might encompass those issues.
