I’m not sure which looks more stupid, the RCMP questioning Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier about his relationship with a Montreal businessman because of a photo the saw of the two shaking hands, or the news media outlets who think this is actually worthy of reporting.
Perhaps the Star, The Chronicle Herald, CTV and the other rags reporting this garbage should team up with the RCMP and go inquire about the relationship between Michael Chamas and former Prime Minister Chretien.

If Julie Couillard was able to pass secret information, it must have already been done by other less conspicuous companions already in the past — if not present.
I can understand the desire to question whether Julie Coullard was privy to secret information or whether she has had a security clearance — everybody is curious and we all like dirt. The main problem that I have with this issue is that the premise is really stupid and impractical.
The underlying assumption seems to be that Couillard is likely to divulge information. Well, any girlfriend or wife or significant-whatever could divulge information too. The assumption also suggests that she would go straight for the Hells Angels or some biker gang. Well, the Hells Angels are not the only gang or group of nefarious businessmen either. There are tons and tons of other criminals that do not stick out like sore thumbs.
Nevertheless, Bernier has probably made it difficult for his political career to progress. He should know that optics plays a major role in politics and that his political power is influenced by what other people think of him.
