The first game that comes to mind if you like action/”D&D”-type RPGs is Dragon Quest Swords. It was developed in Japan but has gotten many top reviews. I personally will be adding this to my library in the near future as I’m a fan of traditional and action RPGs myself.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is more of a hybrid between and RPG and a strategy game like Warcraft III; it’s turn based though, so if you’re more interested in more responsive games.

Coming down the line soon are Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles 2 and Tales of Symphonia 2, both based on highly popular Gamecube prequels which the Wii can plan. Other than that, and besides many 16-bit era AAA RPGs (Shining Force, Breath of Fire 2), I’d probably add that the Nintendo DS had a slow start in getting the RPG genre going (I bought my DS in 2006 and didn’t get a second RPG until May, 2007), however it is flooded with them now. With the Wii blowing away the competition in Japan, many Japanese game houses are beginning to a)take more risks with the Wii and b)develop more titles for the system. The only caution I’ll add to this again is that it sounds like you might be more into American RPGs, in which case, I’d have to agree that the Wii probably won’t many epic adventure titles for. I might be wrong though, and provide a list below of all the current and upcoming adventure titles that have been announced for the Wii:

Smarter than Ezra, while I will not criticize your rights to hold opinions (even if I find them to be often whinny and self-righteous), I agree with everyone else here who doesn’t hold your narrow definition of what The Politic is. I see it as a forum to discuss issues related to culture, individuals & groups, nations and religions…or politics! Aside from that, I seriously have to question why you come here day after day to just complain about post after post that is authored by not only myself but a great majority of the authors here. Again, you are welcome to do this, however would your efforts not be better served by getting your own blog, listing it on the “Progressive Bloggers” blogroll and generating your own base of operations? You’re welcome to even call it “The Politic Watch” or something along those lines, solely devoting it to criticizing posts made here.

However, if you do so, I wonder if your comments will get the same exposure that they do here thanks to Greg’s hard work over the years and maybe, just maybe, that is the reason that you haven’t done the above already!

I actually found the same thing. I played Morrowind and Fable on the Xbox. On Wii, after Zelda (Which was amazing), there’s not much left.

Cool Blue, what kind of games are you into? There are quite a few hidden gems out there (not only for the Wii but also for the Gamecube but which the Wii can also play). I’d be happy to offer some referrals.

The only good ones seem to be the ones published by Nintendo.
