Since eternity past: Toronto Star endorses left-wing political parties for election on both federal and provincial levels
September 2004: Star endorses John Tory for PC Leader during that year’s OPC leadership contest.
October 2007: Star endorses Dalton McGuinty Liberals for re-election, stating that John Tory was hapless and did not run a very effective campaign
January 2008: Star endorses keeping John Tory as PC Leader saying he’d be best choice for party
Makes you wonder whose side they’re on…
Makes you wonder if we should really be listening to the Toronto Star!


It is part of the Toronto Star’s fouding charter that its purpose is to advance the cause of liberalism in Canada. And it does a fine job doing that. Within that context it is a fine newspaper. As a Conservative, though, you can possibly expect to have your views given equal billing. In many ways, however, the star is more honest than most papers. It is liberal and upfront about it.
