Canada still has a very important role to play, as we are a large exporter of oil, and a well-developed nation with a long history of technological innovation and a sound economy. We should be taking advantage of the opportunities that lie before us, not complaining of the 'economic devastation' that any action would bring, and then promptly sticking our heads in the sand.

We should have been playing an active role as a bridge between Europe and America - instead we gave up and decided to follow the US whenever they decide to take action.

Hint to the CPC: the world doesn't care that you're "Canada's New Government (TM)". Blaming the Liberals works even less well than it does here, and it's not working here so well either anymore.
