(Sorta like those who claim that intelligent design is science and want it taught as an alternative in school science classes.) And, if you remove the label of environmentalist, conservative, or liberal, the arguments presented above make the authors silly, irrespective of which side of the political fence you sit on. It is true, when you think about it. There's no question that having more households for a given population will result in more energy consumption, etc. But, it's a stupid point to make because there is nothing we can do about it. You're not going to guilt people into not getting divorced out of concern for the environment. The people who publish these stories may think they're being helpful, when in fact they just make environmentalists look like a bunch of idiots.
