		<description>The quote is fundamentally flawed, in that it presumes that educating a kid is as easy as feeding or clothing a kid.  It's not.  Not all parents are qualified or capable of educating their child to the standard required to be a productive member of society.  Home school should be an option, but there's no question that it's in the best interest of the state for kids to have a proper education, otherwise they will be more likely to turn into welfare bums and so on.  With that in mind, you may ask: is teaching about same sex marriage or intelligent design part of a "proper" education?  Neither is necessary, in my opinion, but I can't say if they are damaging or counter-productive.  I would prefer if both were left out of my kid's education.</description>
