Premature withdrawal indeed

October 11, 2007 · By Marsilio Facino

Video of Troops from Alpha Company, 2nd Platoon, “Red Devils” from Edmonton, Canada conduct a dawn raid on a Taliban compound on July 13, 2006 in Hydarabad, Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan. (160.44s)

From the Military.com website

If the closing line by a Canadian soldier in this video doesn’t make you stand 1 inch taller, then you don’t have a patriotic bone in your body. Send this link to your local NDP representative and ask them to forward it on to Jack Layton, so he can intervene on behalf of the Taliban. With firepower like this, someone will have to pull our soldiers off the Taliban before the one eyed sheikapaloozas become a permanent feature on Hinterland Who’s Who reruns.

And, ya, Military.com is a United States website. I’m surprised Jane Taber has been so slow on this one.

Awesome, makes me proud to be Canadian!

My cousin married a US Marine, I talked to his best man for awhile, he was also in the military, but was leaving to continue his schooling (Harvard).

He had been involved in missions with Canadians. He could not say enough about how good our military are, he would stand with them anyday.

I would feel prouder if they were playing hockey, like real Canadians, rather than being soldiers, like Americans.

Indeed. There’s nothing quite like seeing Jesse Boulerice cross-check Ryan Kesler in the face.

Some people love the smell of hockey tape in the morning; it smells like — victory.

Got something to say?
