I can think of a lot worst things to be like than evil Alberta.

Gasp! This is truly horrible! We mustn’t let a province with a completely different dynamic turn into an Alberta clone! What next, the province will elect people will will sneak in a deal to join the evil Bush regime down south?
We must warn the people! To the NDP-Mobile!

Hmm. Gee. It’s kind of like the slander of America that goes on around the world. Evil Empire, monsters, sinners, and debauched people live in America. They all hate America… yet every year millions try to move there. Why?
Yes, Alberta’s economy is overheated in some ways, but if you don’t have a job there, you don’t want one, and people are making money hand over fist. I am hearing all about vacation properties in BC going through the roof because of all the “Albertans” buying. If there’s that many people from Alberta able to afford and commute to vacation property in BC, I think the province is doing ok.
Check out SDA’s history too. She has a real nice map of the prairies and oil reserves. Notice how they stop DEAD at the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. How rich would Saskatchewan be if they didn’t have the NDP?

Calvert is stealing a page from the Chretien and Martin handbook: when all else fails, attack one of your own provinces. From 1993 to 2006, we were subjected to the sad spectacle of Emmanuel-Goldstein-type two-minute hates staged by the Canadian left. Dion, Calvert, McGuinty are continuing this tradition. The best way to deflect attention from one’s own inadequacies is to fabricate an enemy. Pathetic.

i think that the ndp has had a long term plan to get rid of our younger population. they know the votes they get are from over paid govt employed middleagers. so if all the 20 something gen is gone to alberta they can continue to get their same old voters,,,o yes and the housing market they want credit for is just a alberta spill over but if enough of em move back we may have a better chance to get rid of the red scoundrals.
