Gay Pride: All About Liberation (except for those poor, sick or ugly people)

Free expression or equal treatment? Oh come on, get those pants off:

Stacy Clark is one of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community who is uncomfortable with the growing corporate presence in the Pride celebrations…

“As soon as you start to get very corporate, it’s a double-edged sword,” Clark said. “You need the money to put on the event, and then you get worried about losing the money…

Hamilton said that many poor people are excluded from Vancouver Pride Society–promoted events because of the cost. “What about our low-income people who are gay or lesbian or who have HIV or AIDS?” she asked. “They’re left out of the celebrations. I think that’s just wrong.”

  1. Thanks for your post, Mike.

I have often wondered why Bush doesn’t get more “credit” for the direction Iran has taken. He marginalized the moderate forces and, lo and behold, the hardliners took over. Who could possibly have foreseen that?

Then again that’s probably what Cheney wanted since it is much harder to take steps towards war with a moderately elected government. So by some bizarre neocon interpretation they got what they wanted, didn’t they?

  2. Oh, wait, those were my comments on an actual newsworthy topic!

As opposed to your post, in which you somehow turned a story about gay community members concerned about corporations monetary involvement in gay pride celebrations into some type of slam.

You should figure out what your obsession about gays is all about, as you seem to forsake all other stories for cheap potshots at them at every opportunity.
