Who knew? Speeding Infers Compensating for Small Penis Size …

… But who’s to say it doesn’t actually infer a braggart with a per square inch generous endowment? Seems like a perfectly sensible question.
It’s pretty sad when the only way left to morally shame men into not speeding is to tell them it means they are lacking in the manhood department. And not manly virtue or anything likely to elevate human dignity, just penis size.
Does anyone actually think such an ad will work? The marketing behind this must figure Australian men will be convicted to feel utter shame everytime their foot gets too heavy because some stupid ad says, “Oh, now you’re just compensating for your small penis.”
And what about the speeding ladies? why only male drivers? Surely the ladies speed too! Maybe their ad will infer that girls who speed are only nerdy fat chicks compensating for too much junk in the trunk.

“Maybe their ad will infer that girls who speed are only nerdy fat chicks compensating for too much junk in the trunk.”
Actually, the corollary is that a woman is a little too big down below… you know, that guys have to tie a board over their ass to stop from falling in, can’t touch the sides, help me find my car keys and we can drive out kinda big!
I do this it will work actually, especailly on the young driver demographic who still think driving a car makes them cool. It caught your attention, and you are talking about it. Mission accomplished. (But then, penises always catch your attention, no matter the size and who it is attached to.)
Thanks Peter. That makes more sense. It’s anyone’s guess how that could be depicted to shame women into not speeding.
The ad is Australian, as reported by the BBC. To think this ad will work assumes young men are stupid enough to believe people actually draw such a connection. While not making much of a point, they’ve depicted young men as senseless hooligans, caring little for any virtue of character. Guys may or may not talk about the ad, but so what? I doubt it will have any effect because it’s not giving young male drivers any actual reason why speeding is morally objectionable; just some stupid bit of marketing that says guys who speed are compensating because they are physically deficient, as far as being male goes.
Is speeding a morality issue? Or is a legal obligation? I really do not see what morality has to do with following posted speed limits. Jesus didn’t drive a car, dude.
To be human is to be moral, to make choices, for better or worse, and live with the consequences. To choose to speed is to accept the risks of speeding: less reaction time, greater chance of serious injury should an accident occur, etc.
We have legal restrictions on driving speed because of the dangers incumbent from driving too fast. Justifying why we need such legal restrictions is a moral argument.
Encouraging drivers to exercise their conscience and follow the law, the legislated speed limit, is to appeal to their sense of right and wrong. This commercial doesn’t really do that as much as shame young men with an obviously false implication. The commercial is about as funny as a David Suzuki beer, hockey and light bulbs commercial; making the man-haters of the world laugh but few else.
