Coddling petulant indians can be harmful to your career

If you’re the premier of Ontario:

A new poll suggests the aboriginal standoff in Caledonia is beginning to hurt the governing Liberals. That’s easy to understand. The occupation has been poorly handled from the outset…many Ontarians now believe there are two laws in the province - one for non-natives and one for natives.

  1. The Ontario government should have let the police do their job and evict those lawbreakers from the beginning of the crisis. Instead they legitimized the occupation by first negotiating with the aboriginals and then by buying the property that they were occupying. They only have themselves to blame for any loss in popularity.

  2. The only thing more maddening about the Caledonia situation is to have the
federal government cave into McGuinty’s demands to help him out of the mess he
    created.

  3. Has that happened?

  4. Yup it happened…$26.2 million dollars of our money to that Norman Bates lookalike to help pay for Caledonia. But who pays for the CN Bridge that these terrorists burned? Who pays for the repairs to the highway that these goons dub up with a backhoe? Who pays for the Hydro substation that they destroyed.

Its ridiculous that this absolute lawlessness is not only allowed to continue but that it is legitmised by both the provincial and federal levels of government.

  5. Any advice on things that might be helpful to your career? Other than being an ass to gain popularity on a blogsite, that is.

  6. Hank– I see that I’m not the only one who noticed that “Psycho” vibe in the premier: Not only the physical resemblance, but also that sense of barely contained rage simmering beneath the surface…(cue the eerie violin music)

  7. The Natives have just recieved human rights in 1953 and were no longer considered “wards of the state”, then later had there rights entrenched in the 1982 constitution.

It was known in civil cases against racism in 1970 that native people could not recive a beer from the bar for being an Indian. And after 9 out of 13 native kids that attended Residential Schools being sexually abused, taken away from there parents till the age of 16, ripped of from resource rights, stolen land, racist government rulings for hunting and fishing.

I am wondering what else can be done against the natives…

What and how would you feel after being ass faqed as a boy, then find out you have been ripped off for you land, then not get acknowledged by the government… Im wondering why they dont do it more.,.
