Garth Turner: “Harper is a political whore”

Garth has obviously had a time-sensitive filter installed as part of his Liberal upgrade. In the last couple of weeks Garth and readers of his blog have been debating how to address concerns of sharp opinion raised towards his party of old and commenters that are posting non-Liberal generated thoughts on his blog.
Unfortunately however the filter is time delayed or so it seems. Garth looked for an opportunity and challenge in serving up an former Conservative riding association head for a recent appointment by Tony Clement. That was the challenge, the underlying opportunity Garth saw was to set a context to address the Prime Minister as a ‘political whore‘.
The filter kicked in sometime after posting to original to his blog and Turner decided to take it down and replace it with financial yakity-yak and abandon his original posting. The new posting borrows from the old in some areas, just not the hot-tempered ones.

I would imagine most of the decision to remove the posting came from naming the individual who was appointed and flinging phrases like, “where she deservedly earns four times more than the average family, does not need more money.” Who made that decision is another topic. Garth?
Word has it that the leaders office called him at home to tell him to remove the post.
I wouldnt be surprised if someones lawyer called as well. this comes from the leader who says hes not going negative on the cpc and yet, big mouth turner opens it up and sticks the foot in.

visiting Garth’s site anymore, I can’t be bothered reading most of his tripe. From “man of the people” to “man who hasn’t seen a microphone he didn’t like”. It’s all about Garth. Like many others, I couldn’t resist a visit after reading about the “Political Whore” post at The Politic
Received confirmation in the ol’ inbox today that the leader of the Liberal party has been monitoring Garths blog and was THE reason he removed the political whore comment.
His “bug” apparantly is a load of BS. Dion has “asked” Turner to stop adding comments to posts made by users.

Hey Kelly:
Good to see you writing here. I find the case of Garth more than a little sad for both Garth and conservatives across Canada. There was a time, when I thought that Garth had some real potential and, after the David Emerson affair, I actually thought that some of Garth’s rage was justified.
I’m of the opinion that Harper has, at times, shown extremely poor judgement and, in his short time in office has done some very Liberal things. I don’t want to diminish Harper’s acheivements, I’m just noting that Garth’s initial outrage was, in some respects, VERY conservative and some would say noble.
However, there comes a point where it is evient that one’s own agenda must take a back seat to the greater vision of things to come. Garth, like Belinda, has allowed his own personal vendettas and aspirations to eclipse anything he once claimed to stand for. In fact, Garth has become the very thing that he claims to so despise Harper for. He, like Belinda, like David Emerson, is a whore. He is struggling to fight his own political irrelavance by becoming that which he has spent a lifetime fighting - - a Liberal.
The thing is now, through his blog entry, we see just how complete the transition for him is.
First, he sells himself to the Liberal Party (the irony of this is that he may never get elected again as a result which likely seals the fate of his quest for cabinet minister)
Secondly, he shouts insults at the top of his lungs. Like the spoiled child no longer allowed to play with the other cool kids Garth has taken to the “I’m picking up my ball and going home” approach; instead of putting together some constructive, well thought out dialogue.
Third, like a true Liberal lemming, he pulls his post, allegedly, at the behest of his leader because everyone knows that, Liberals are not supposed to be capable of independent thought. That would be very unTrudeau like of them and just totally unacceptable.
Oh Garth–yes, you truly are a Liberal. Who knows, commit a few felonies and cover them up and you may just make it to a Liberal cabinet yet
