“”Hello Facebook” - More Dion Antics

Stephane Dion has a new video up on the Liberal website that should amuse the masses. Does anyone over in the OLO not edit these things, or are they meant to be this zanny?!

Update: Transcript for the video…

Hello Facebook, thank you so much to all of you to participate in it. I’m very impressed and very encouraged… it is a great support I am receiving and let me tell you, it will motivate me a lot to win the next election to offer Canadians in deed what we believe in… that means a more prosperous Canada, and more just Canada, and a more sustainable Canada.

We’ll succeed altogether.

  1. I have to say I still can’t understand what he is saying except at the end!!!

  2. “Hello facebook, thank you so much to all of you who pacjslkdjffjsdfk I’m very impressed…”

  3. Hey, it’s just a sideshow!

  4. Oh my heavens. Who in their right mind would vote for this pathetic weasel?

  5. What’s baffling about this is that it’s pre-recorded. If it were a live comment during a scrum or something, the humourously awful wording would be understandable, but why on earth didn’t Dion and his handlers rehearse the speech before they released it?

Perhaps the Liberals’ fundraising is going so badly, they could only afford one take. :)

And they’ve allowed it to say up on the site! I can’t figure out why they would release this video? Even if the language was clearer, I am willing to bet the only a handful of people who viewed this video would have any idea what Facebook is.

Facebook is popular, but NOT that popular. I can’t even find the specific profile he is referring to in Facebook.

  7. Stephane now has a profile that went online on Tuesday as far as I know; there have been pro-Dion groups on Facebook since well into last year though that I *think* Dion is referencing.

Compare this, of course, to the Prime Minister or Olivia Chow. Both have accounts on Facebook but unlike Dion, they’ve used it quite successfully to get their message out/network with mainly young Canadians who are attracted to the site.
