It would be hard for any of us in the West to truly understand the hold of fear that Saddam had on the people of Iraq. We have thankfully never experienced anything like that ourselves. I know that as humans we are not to judge others, that is up to God, and we are all sinners in one way or another. But God also sanctioned human laws and courts. I believe Saddam's trial was an honest one and that the judgement his 'peers' dealt him was just. I hope the families of his victims will sleep just a big easier tonight.
