Oberg’s Campaign Forum Inactive, Except for Porn, Viagra Ads
November 22, 2006 · By Greg Farries
Larry Johnsrude comments on his Edmonton Journal weblog that Oberg’s campaign website discussion forum was, until recently, full of porn, and ads for Viagra.
Apparently, some mischievous soul posted links to porn websites to his forum page. Oberg’s people have taken down the naughty postings — except for this one, which links to ads for Viagra and other on-line drug sales.
That prompted this comment from a reader:
“Not gonna get all high and mighty and scream ‘what about the children?’ but since Oberg is courting the social conservatives out there, I wonder what they’d think if they saw this on his campaign website.
“The fact that it’s been there for a week and not been pulled down shows 1) no one ever goes to his site (bad news) or 2) He is running an incompetent campaign.
The link to the Viagra ad that Larry refers to in his posting is still on the site, and the forum admin has admitted the campaign was not prepared for this problem.
Our apologies folks. It’s been a hectic week and we didn’t realize that some inappropriate material made it onto the website. We apologize for this.
Surprisingly, the forums are rather barren and the interaction between participants sparse. Which in my opinion is almost as bad as letting porn and ads slip through.

I reported this to Oberg’s campaign Team 10 days ago, they replied they would look into it, and that they would notify the web administrator who is volunteer and also has a full time job.
Hello!,
I’m new here. And it seems like an awesome place.
I just wanted to give a nice “how’s it going” to all of you here.
