A Serious Joke?

When Ted Morton joked last night in High River about a batallion of high priced lobbyists working for Jim Dinning, not many people laughed. Someone suggested that the joke was not succesful, judging by the audience’s reaction.

It was also suggested that the serious substance of the remark had obscured Morton’s intended joke in the eyes of the audience. Maybe. But the CBC got it:

“To his credit, Jim has endorsed a lobbyist registry, and I have no doubt he could probably design a pretty good one because he already has most of the most powerful lobbyists in Alberta working on his campaign team”
