The Company Garth Keeps

October 29, 2006 · By

Garth Turner gave an interview to someone named Greg Felton and Bourque linked to it. Here are some excerpts from the hard-hitting questions asked of Garth:

“It doesn’t sound as if the MPs in the Harper government have any freedom whatever…”

“How would you characterize the Harper government? It doesn’t sound democratic.”

“Would it be too much to say that Stephen Harper’s approach to government is that of a dictatorship?”

“Would you say that…Stephen Harper has criminalized dissent within the party?”

“…have any other MPs been intimidated or coerced”…

“Do you think the Harper government dead-in the water…”

I guess the only question I have is: With interviewing skills like that, why hasn’t Felton been hired by the CBC?

Take a look at Felton’s site, and his history of articles. 90% of them are virulent anti-zionist. I’m surprised that Garth let himself be interviewed by this wacko. Doesn’t add much to Garth’s general judgement level, does it?

  2. Greg Felton on October 30th, 2006 12:30 am [#]

So what’s wrong with being anti-Zionist? Anybody with a moral sense is anti-Zionist, just as any sane person was anti-Nazi during WWII.

Being accurate does not make me a wacko. If you had sonething intelligent to say, I assume you would have said it.

“Doesn’t add much to Garth’s general judgement level, does it?”

    Nope, sure doesn’t.

“Anybody with a moral sense is anti-Zionist, just as any sane person was anti-Nazi during WWII.”

Is believing that a prerequisite for writing for the Canadian Arab News?

  4. Greg Felton on October 30th, 2006 2:23 am [#]

What kind of a question is that?
The only people who believe in prerequisites and litmus tests belong to the Israel Lobby, who are deathly afraid of honest criticism.

  5. Aaron Unruh on October 30th, 2006 3:07 am [#]

Comparing Zionists to Nazis is not exactly what most people would call honest or even constructive criticism, Greg. Most people would call it, umm, “stupid.”

  6. Greg Felton on October 30th, 2006 12:13 pm [#]

People like you are, um, ignorant. The equation betwenn Nazis and Zionists is demonstrably provable, and has been acknowledged by Israelis.

You might see the light if you pulled your head out of your ass.

  7. Ryan on October 30th, 2006 3:23 pm [#]

It seems to me that Aaron’s head is getting an ample amount of light. Something you would know if your head was.

Your comparison of anti-nazism with anti-zionsim is facile, at best. Which is hardly surprising after reading the questions you posed to Mr. Turner.

  8. Greg Felton on October 30th, 2006 4:06 pm [#]

    Really?
Just how do you defend your oh-so-smart assertion?

Are you aware that Zionist Jews were Nazi collaborators?

Are you aware that terrorist Yitzhak Shamir tried to strikedeal with Hitler?

My comparison is anything but facile, especially when you consider that Israel is using Nazi terrorism tactics against Arabs.

Unlike you, I come prepared with facts.

And your trusty tin foil hat?

Ah, the wit of the witless.
Still no intelligent comment, I see.

    Typical.

  11. Aaron Unruh on October 30th, 2006 6:23 pm [#]

How can a witless person provide wit?

Incidentally, Greg, when you boast about coming armed with facts, it’s probably best not to cite articles found on an URL that is your name.

  12. Greg Felton on October 30th, 2006 8:13 pm [#]

Is there a point to your verbal diarrhea? Either put up or shut up.

  13. Aaron Unruh on October 31st, 2006 12:41 am [#]

Put what up? A defense of the state of Israel against your charge of Nazism? Sorry, I don’t get paid by the Society for the Patronization of Dumb Ideas.

  14. Greg Felton on October 31st, 2006 1:44 am [#]

I see you still can’t say anything intelligent. I challenge you to justify your attacks on me and you cower in the corner like a whipped dog.

Israel was founded by Nazi collaborators and it practises Nazi-syle terrorism.
I showed this in “Zionists sabotage anti-fascist boycott—again”

Your denial of my arguments does not make them less valid. The fact that you are only capable of infantile insults is tantamount to an admission of surrender.

Now be a good little zionist and jump off a bridge. Intelligent people need the oxygen.

  15. Aaron Unruh on October 31st, 2006 1:53 am [#]

“Now be a good little zionist and jump off a bridge. Intelligent people need the oxygen.”

    Niiiiiiice.

  16. Ryan on October 31st, 2006 9:14 am [#]

Greg – your “facts” are suspect, your usage of them is laughable and sits somewhere in the realm of propaganda. Further, your counter-attacks reveal a troubling willingness for bashing the Israeli people (e.g. your latest jumping off the bridge comment). This is especailly troubling given your apparent efforts to criticize this behaviour when it is directed at Arab people.

  17. Marsilio Facino on October 31st, 2006 9:21 am [#]

I’d love to participate in this discussion, but I’m too busy reading the excellent book about Hitler’s Mufti by Rabbi David G. Dalin (called the Myth of Hitler’s Pope).

    Great book, great history.

  18. Greg Felton on October 31st, 2006 12:19 pm [#]

Gee, Ryan, I had no idea you were so smart. Which of my facts is “suspect?” assuming you can find one.

As for Marsilio’s mistaken belief that he is reading real history, he should read a non-Zionist account of the Grand Mufti.

He tried to induce Hitler to join him iun an anti-British camapaign. But Hitler refused. The Mufti’s advances amounted to NOTHING, but that hasn’t stopped Zionist liars from rewriting history.

On the other hand, Zionist Jews like Shamir, Weizmann, ben Gurion and Kasztner were full colaborators with the Nazi regime.

As I said: put up or shut up!

  19. Ryan on October 31st, 2006 1:06 pm [#]

Of course you didn’t know I am so smart Greg, we’ve never met, and for that I am indeed grateful.

As far as putting up or shutting up goes, I honestly don’t think it is worth the effort. Frankly, I have already devoted more time, thought, and bandwidth to responding to your posts than is warranted.

Have fun with your kooky little website.

  20. Aaron Unruh on October 31st, 2006 1:47 pm [#]

“As far as putting up or shutting up goes, I honestly don’t think it is worth the effort.”

    Exactly.

  21. Greg Felton on October 31st, 2006 3:20 pm [#]

Hmm, it’s not worth the effort to back up your attacks on me with evidence, but it is worth the effort to make insult me and my writing——typical zionist cowards.
I acknowledge your defeat and leave you to your infantile prattle.

  22. Marsilio Facino on October 31st, 2006 3:22 pm [#]

“he should read a non-Zionist account of the Grand Mufti.”

I’m far too busy reading Sir Martin Gilbert and B’at Ye’or. And I also have David Hackett Fischer’s Historians’ Fallacies to polish off.

Which reminds me — I’m overdue to buy some Matzo crackers. We gentile zionists work up a mighty big appetite when we hatch plans for world domination with Haliburton and the Trilateral Commission.

    Bon appetit, everyone!

  23. Aaron Unruh on October 31st, 2006 3:28 pm [#]

    “I acknowledge your defeat…”

Aren’t I supposed to acknowledge my defeat? Fine. I acknowledge my humbled status as just another notch in the belt of Felton the Zionist Slayer.

  24. Ryan on October 31st, 2006 3:38 pm [#]

Whatever Greg. I am aware of the issues that you are raising and I know about Lehi and the proposal to Hitler. What I object to is your broad comparison of zionism writ-large with Nazism, which is in a word, stupid, lazy, and mis-guided. Now excuse me, I’m off to prattle in an infantile way, which is a cut above your performance sport.

Greg Felton’s latest column which refers to “fascist Jews” in Canada may well be hate speech.

  26. Reality Check on November 22nd, 2006 10:49 am [#]

This guy is appalling. His latest “column” contains the following words including a dubious un-sourced quote of Ben Gurion. (According to CAMERA the quote is a hoax.) Here is the excerpt including the quote:

The Jews who perpetrate these atrocities do not kill out of any perceived military threat to Israel; they kill because they are steeped in a toxic culture of Jewish supremacy and anti-Arab hatred. They torture and massacre Arabs, starve them, toy with them, punish them for their birth, and they do so voluntarily, even eagerly, with unsurpassable malice and cruelty,

“Like the Nazis, these are men and women who, faithful to their credo of racial superiority, consider the slaughter to be just. From at least the early 20th century, they have been possessed by “eliminationist” anti-Arabism, which was best expressed by David ben-Gurion in May 1948: “We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population.””

Felton knows if he libels a living person, he is exposed to a civil suit. Felton also knows if he practises hate speech in Canada against Jews, he risks prosecution for hate crimes under our Criminal Code. So he dances between quoting dead people and attacking “Zionists.” But the above words are less careful, as he lets his guard down briefly and speaks of the “Jews” rather than “Zionists.”

I shall be charitable and assume that Garth Turner was unaware of Greg Fenton’s nature.

But from now on, Garth, you should avoid this slimeball. Lie down with dogs, get up with flees.
