The Christians Are Coming, The Christians Are Coming!

Anyone following the fallout of the breaking story yesterday that the Conservative government is looking into introducing a Defence of Religious Freedoms Act if it’s promised vote on re-evaluate “same-sex” marriage fails to get the support it needs to pass could be forgiven for mistaking Bell Groanmedia for EAGLE Canada for how they’ve been reporting on the issue. The mega-sized media organization isn’t even pretending to be neutral on the issue anymore when stuff like today’s webpoll is snidely explaining that *it’s because of those darn Conservatives that we have to ask if you still oppose “same-sex” marriage*! (at the time of this article, a solid 63% still do!)
Let us be clear though: the Globe, CTV, CBC, TorStar were just itching to report on the marriage debate again so that they could bemoan social conservatives. They’ve even inducted the MP for Toronto-Wannabe, Garth Turner, to supply them with endless quotes from a “Conservative” MP with which they can attack the Harper administration. The “yappy dog” turned lap-dog, was all too willing to comply just so that he could see his name on the front pages again. Watch though on how, in the next week, a new poll will conveniently be released showing Conservative support dropping, a special series on an average gay couple is taking the news and a scare story on some Alabama church which lets cousins marry, just for good measure! The liberal media just can’t get enough of this issue, and yes, doesn’t want it to go away since it allows them to continue their hissy fits over our Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and Hindu minorities (but mostly Christian!).
In their zeal to go crusading all of the above though, our friends in secularism have just abandoned any legitimacy by attacking a legislative plan that is based solely in what the crusaders were crying blue murder about at this time last year: rights! And for that reason, the social conservatives who were shunned by “tolerant” society might find themselves on the winning side of this issue sooner than they thought possible!
Never mind religion, I’m thinking we’re gonna need a Defense of Western Civilisation Act soon.
“We’ve asked this before but the federal Conservatives keep bringing the question up: Do you approve of same-sex marriage?”
If only they actually did ask us!!!!
This exact same question failed in Alberta. How do you ever expect it to pass here? The Conservatives know it, but are doing it to bolster support in the only place they can still get it.
Garth Turner is a conservative? Could have fooled me. I thought he was the usual lefty media type who got tired of TELLING people how to act and moved on to a position where he could ORDER the how to act!
Then again maybe he’s just a fat, loser, fuck.

BTW, what’s with this “Real Conservative” clown who goes around posting inane racist shite as though that’s what actual conservatives (so-con _or_ libertarian wings) believe?
Did you know that EGALE and Real Women have offices right next to each other in the same building on the same floor in Ottawa? (The Green Party is right downstairs from them both). Irony is my second favourite thing.
I’m not sure its anything ironic, perhaps it just a good location? I’m friends with many people who share redically different political and social viewpoints – but I not sure I would call that ironic?
It is actually a crappy location. They share the space because of the low rent. It is ironic, because the only thing that EGALE and Real Women share is a wall.
