Incremental Change in Law: David Brown

October 4, 2006 · By

The lead editorial in yesterday’s Nat Post reported on Stephen Harper’s appointment of Ontario lawyer David Brown to the Ontario Superior Court. Brown is a prominent lawyer and scholar who specializes in religious freeoms. He’s the author of some important articles on religious freedoms in Canada and I’m sure he’ll do a fine job, despite what the Globe and Mail huff and puffs. More at Lifesite.

David Brown is an eminently sensible lawyer, who not only represents groups on issues of religious liberties but also works in the field of energy regulation. In fact, the main focus of his practice is energy regulation not religious liberties. Furthermore, David Brown has represented the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and Focus on the Family while himself being a Catholic. This advocacy has also led to him working with other religious groups such as Muslims and Orthodox Jews. It’s unfortunate that the Globe and Mail is so influenced by leftist ideologues that they fail to recognize as truly accepting person when they see one.
