David Oliver: Still Bending Over for the Liberal Party

Ignatieff is playing up the fact that some of Hedy Fry’s [see picture of Hedy doing constituency work] campaign workers have signed up with his campaign, this despite the fact that Fry endorsed Rae. [h/t to this embarrassingly fawning Iggyphile]
One such person is David Oliver. Iggy’s site plays up his cred:
David Oliver is the past Liberal candidate for Abbotsford in the 2006 election. He is a former riding president of both the Fraser Valley and the Abbotsford Federal Liberal Associations. He is an active member of the South Fraser Federal Liberal Action Group (FLAG) and of the LPC(BC) Policy Committee. David Oliver has a long career as a teacher in public schools, on First Nations reserves and in the prison system.
The first sentence is a bit of a stretching of the truth. The truth is that Oliver was the Liberal candidate in Abbotsford for a while, until the little amoral douchebag of an NDP candidate in the riding contrived a story about Oliver attempting to bribe him to quit the race. Turns out that the ND was lying, as he admitted later. But that didn’t stop Paul Martin, he of the attention span and the general excitable demeanor of a nine-year-old girl, from forcing Oliver out of the race on the basis of a groundless accusation.
Can you blame Ignatieff’s web people for not including that biographical bit on Mr. Oliver? No. But one could reasonably be surprised to see Mr. Oliver back into it all, bending over once again for the Liberal Party. After the way the Liberal Party used and abused David Oliver, it is nothing short of pitiful to see him still involved in the party. It conjures up the sort of emotions one experiences when a battered wife is seen to have returned to her husband.
You have my sympathies, Mr. Oliver. But the first step to getting out of an abusive relationship is to up and leave. Here’s the first step.
As horrifying as that pic of Hedy might seem, it beats her getup a few years ago, when she wore leather pants.

.. I realize that this entry is a cpl yrs old.. but i was bored today and decided to Google David Oliver.. who happened to be the “man” that played the father figure roll in my life!.. I laugh at the fact that you felt sympathy for this man and i think its ironic that you compared his relations with politics like being in an abusive relationship.. If the world only knew what i know!!..When this scandal was taking place, it took every fiber of my being to not call the news stations to give them a (i say this very sarcastically,) “Heart Warming” story about the truth of his past.. I mean, that is what politics is about these days, is it not? Digging up the dirt on a politicians past life?!?.. If you all only knew the truth of what this coward is really like!.. I promise you, no one would feel sorry for this pitiful excuse of a human being!…. I hope that David somehow sees this.. and know this.. I could more then likely ruin your political career at the drop of a dime!..but I am not as low as you..
