DraftNewt

Following up on George’s discussion of Rudy Guiliani’s chances of winning the Republican nomination for president: here is draftnewt.org, which, incidentally, a Blogging Tory writes at.
I’m personally not sure about Gingrich’s chances. If Guiliani comes on strong, however, a southern conservative like Gingrich may make an ideal stop-Guiliani candidate.

Thanks for the link, much appreciated. The base is always critical for any candidate to win a nomination. This is why McCain failed to capture the nomination in 2000. The GOP base wants a true conservative, I don’t think a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage Republican like Giuliani can win, although on national security i believe he would be excellent.
The great leaders of our time: Churchill, Reagan, FDR, Thatcher, had a great understanding of history. Where we came from, where we are , and where we need to go as a civilization. I think Newt is the only candidate with the ability and background to analyze where the Western world was, is, and needs to go; and, who can articulate that to the people. That’s why I support Newt.
I agree that Newt would probably be the strongest intellect in the race.
I think that Guiliani will attact the most initial attention, but this will serve only to energize those Republicans that oppose to him. Gingrich is in a good position to appeal to the social conservative elements in the south and in the midwest heartland.
Giuliani for pres Newt for Vice!
I’d rather have Newt as prez and Rudy as vice-president. But either combination of the two would be unbeatable. Especially against Hillary Clinton!!!
