Check out the cool music on the website for the Tehran Avenue Music Festival. It’s full of sound files of the sounds coming out of Iran’s independent music scene. It’s a reminder that not only is their a vibrant and creative culture underneath the mad mullahs, but one that’s diverse, cosmopolitan, and writes (in my opinion) better music than that created by western artists.
