Cosh on Trudeau on Castro

Colby Cosh resoundingly destroys Alexandre Trudeau’s elegy to Fidel Castro. This is Cosh at his caustic and insightful best.

Looks like Junior Trudeau is as morally blind as Senior was.

Terrorists Sacrifice Their Own Babies

August 14, 2006 · By Tom Cerber

The Old Testament speaks of the ancient pagan god Moloch, to whom people sacrificed their children.

It seems contemporary terrorists who act in the name of Islam are in fact Moloch worshippers, as evidenced by the recent plot to blow up US-bound flights out of England:

A husband-and-wife team of suicide bombers allegedly planned to sacrifice their own baby by hiding liquid explosives in the infant’s milk and blowing up a passenger plane, according to news reports on the British terrorist plot to bring down as many as 12 airliners.

Police are investigating claims the couple were prepared to use their baby as a decoy, according to a report in yesterday’s Sunday Mirror. The possibility prompted airports to allow passengers with small children to carry baby food onto planes only if they tasted it first.

“This takes things to a horrifying new level. It is truly horrific that a man may have been ready to blow up his wife and she was prepared to let her child die,” an intelligence source told the Mirror.

Golda Meir, the former president of Israel, once said that peace would come in the Mideast when the Palestinians loved their children more than they hated the Israelis. Same goes for the contemporary Molochites.

Anti-Semetic Death Threats and Rueters

August 11, 2006 · By H. Cameron

On Wed I posted about how a Rueters photographer was editing photos of the Lebanon Israel War in an attempt to “make the photo seem more sensational.” Well, it seems that one Rueters employee agreed with the old, “fake but true” adage and took considerable insult to the whole incident.

A Reuters employee has been suspended after sending a death threat to an American blogger.

The message, sent from a Reuters internet account, read: “I look forward to the day when you pigs get your throats cut.”

It was sent to Charles Johnson, owner of the Little Green Footballs (LGF) weblog, a popular site which often backs Israel and highlights jihadist terrorist activities.

In the threat, the Reuters staff member, who has not been named, left his email address as “zionistpig” at hotmail.com.

Knowing Reuters, it’s hardly suprising uttering anti-semetic death threats only gets you suspended.

Katyusha rockets Fired From Lebanon Could be Shot Down

August 10, 2006 · By H. Cameron

Believe it or not, the WWII Katyusha rockets that Hizbollah terrorists are raining down on Northern Israel could be shot out of the sky with ground based lasers already developed by the US Military. Angelo Codevilla at National Review Online explains why they haven’t been used and what could happen if US and Israeli policy makers would stop worrying about the repercussions to using ground and space missile defences.

Terrorism in Montreal

August 8, 2006 · By Tom Cerber

A group calling itself Initiative de résistance internationaliste (IRI) claims responsibility for blowing up the car of Carol Montreuil, a spokesperson for the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute.

CBC reports:

IRI e-mails blame oil companies for holding consumers hostage while making enormous profits, damaging the environment and financing “an imperialist army which is committing barbarous acts” in places such as Iraq.

This appears to be the same group that claimed responsibility for bombing a Hydro-Québec tower close to the U.S. border on the eve of U.S. President George W. Bush’s visit in 2004.

Police are investigating.

Beware August 22: Bernard Lewis

Bernard Lewis, dean of Islam studies, suggests some reasons why the Iranian president picked August 22 to provide “an answer” to Western governments’ demands Iran cease its nuclear program. The reasons are not at all reassuring.

Scientist Wants to Alter the Chemical Makeup of Earth’s Upper Atmosphere

August 8, 2006 · By H. Cameron

You can’t make this stuff up.

A Nobel Prize-winning scientist has drawn up an emergency plan to save the world from global warming, by altering the chemical makeup of Earth’s upper atmosphere. Professor Paul Crutzen, who won a Nobel Prize in 1995 for his work on the hole in the ozone layer, believes that political attempts to limit man-made greenhouse gases are so pitiful that a radical contingency plan is needed.

It would cost between $25bn and $50bn - or about $25 or $50 per head in the developed world - to launch sufficient sulphate to last for up to two years.

Yikes, apparently no price is too high to quell the impending destruction of the earth! Check out the next paragraph in the article:

But this high cost should be measured against the much bigger costs of environmental disasters, such as coastal flooding, caused by global warming, he said.

Environmental disasters caused by coastal flooding? Assuming there is even going to be a disaster of epic proportions, does spend $25bn and $50bn on altering the atmosphere sound like a reasonable proposition? This junk science is borderline nutty, yet the main-stream media outlets let scientists like this off way too easily.

Read “Fallacy Nine: Global Warming will Produce a Rise in Sea Levels” (pg 316) by Dr. deFreitas for more information on how the rising sea levels data has been manipulated and mis-stated.

Hizbollah Nearly Kills UN peacekeepers in Lebanon

August 8, 2006 · By H. Cameron

Where is the outrage?

BEIRUT, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Three Chinese soldiers in the United Nations peacekeeping force were lightly wounded on Sunday when a mortar round fired by Hizbollah hit their base in southern Lebanon, a spokesman for the UNIFIL force said.

Three paragraphs are about Hizbollah’s ill-directed missiles and then Reuters spends the rest of the news alert describing Israeli brutal history of “targeting” the UN. I kid you not, this is supposed to be journalism? [via the Shot Gun]
