Farewell to NealeNews – It Has Been a Blast

August 23, 2006 · By

Neale has decided that his heart is no longer in it and he is going to shut down NealeNews. Which is a huge pitty – it’s the first place I visit when I turn my computer on.

Reading around the Canadian blogs, I’d say that Neale’s site was the first of the day for an awful lot of us.

That sucks. He kicked Bourque’s ass.

First or second of the day for me — I’m pretty sad about this. How big was his readership and did he drop it because it wasn’t making enough money?

Are there any Canadian alternatives to neale?

There is Bourque NewsWatch – http://www.bourque.org and for American news there is the Drudge Report – http://www.drudgereport.com.

I’ve heard good things about, Jack’s Newswatch, http://www.jacksnewswatch.info, but I have never really used it much.

It was my “opener” every morning, too. Nealenews will be missed.
Some good USA links, many of which Bourque doesn’t headline, although they are available if you have time to search.

Only about 1/3 of his posts were actually useful. The remainder consisted of stories about Oprah’s gay lovers, Pamela Anderson’s latest boob job, etc. Fascinating, I’m sure, for many but useless to me.

Truly “good guys” often do, in fact, finish last. Sad but true.

Got something to say? (Read the rules first)
