A fair measured response to the use of a chemical weapon would be a Fuel Air Explosive.

The Israelis would certainly have some.

Yes. Let Hamas know just how tenuous their situation is, that they should not have anything to do with extremists who invade Israeli territory to commit acts of terror. And this especially when the peace process was moving forward. Israel had completely removed itself from Gaza.

No, I do not agree. Would you not agree that this:

An Isreali soldier was abducted last Sunday in a raid by militants on a remote guard post near the Gaza border.

Justifies this:

Days of air strikes and ground operations by the Israeli army have destroyed bridges and a power station that supplied 40 per cent of the electricity in the Gaza Strip.

More than 30 targets were hit by Israeli air strikes during the latest attack, and thousands of soldiers backed up by tanks were positioned in the southern Gaza Strip, poised to move into crowded coastal areas.

You're like a lawyer who just discovered a new latin term that they think is really cool and makes arguments sound really sophisticated.

As for Palestinian leaders never really being known for their smarts, do you or do you not agree? Everytime Israel gives them an inch, they take a mile in the direction opposite diplomacy and towards further terrorism. The Palestinian government should be decrying the terrorist elements in their ranks, fully supportive of the Israeli position with regard to their kidnapped soldier. Maybe then Palestinian government buildings would not get blown up by Israeli gun ships.

If Palestinian leaders could stop being so duplicitous, genuinely hoping for a two-state solution to this quagmire, maybe then they would realise a better future for their people. Instead they don't appear to have the smarts to get over their hatred of Israel and forgive, on every occasion using Israeli good will as a chance to wage more terror.

Who knows. Palestinian leaders have never really been known for their smarts, except maybe when sponging money off European and Arab countries.
