Josef Joffe, the publisher-editor of Die Zeit, demonstrates European anti-Americanism is based upon spiritual pathologies and has nothing to do with US policy.Â? He restates and updates some of what James Ceaser argues in his Reconstructing America: The Symbol of America in Modern Thought (notice:Â? symbol, not idea).Â? Not as philosophically insightful as Ceaser, but worth reading.
