Another Bill Graham Boner

May 7, 2006 · By

Graham today at a Liberal Party of Toronto meeting:

Graham said his party can prove it is ready to govern again, just as Dalton McGuinty’s Liberal’s did provincially in 2003 by beating the Conservatives.

“Just as Dalton and his team did, we can earn back the people’s trust and give them an alternative to the destructive policies of this Conservative government,” he said.

The CBC story-writer dutifully follows this parallel up with the obvious:

The Liberals were out of power in Ontario for 13 years, having last governed in 1990.

Which may not be far off. Can the Liberals really repair their tainted public image in 13 years?

I’d be surprised if they managed. Much will depend on how successfull Jack! is in moving his party into the mainstream left to supersede the grits.

    Spot on Matt

My guess is that both the NDP and Conservatives will pick up additional seats in Ontario the next go around. We’ll see.
