Ethnic Cleansing and Euro-Trash: Listening to Natives in Vancouver
April 14, 2006 · By Peter Rempel
I came across about thirty aboriginals today protesting on the corner of Robson and Burrard. A cross with the words “native holocaust” was prominent and several people were lining up to speak with a bullhorn. The first old lady complained that some government pay-out to natives was giving “only” 10,000, whereas Albertan natives were receiving 15,000. The next woman used the term “sovereign nation” at least five times during the course of a two minute speech, complained about the white people driving by in fancy cars, and took the opportunity to assert that single mothers work “real hard” and that “our work isn’t honoured.”
Then came the keynote speaker, a towering man who reminded the audience (finally!) that the rally was meant to illuminate the struggles of natives that were abused in residential schools. From here he launched into a blistering attack on Canada’s armed forces. The soldiers had become tired of genocide of native people and so had gone off to Afghanistan to engage in “ethnic cleansing” of those people. And anyway, the Afghanistan mission is all about building a pipeline from Russia to some ‘Stan country, and did you know that the current president of Afghanistan once sat on an oil company’s board of directors? George Bush came up for abuse here, which received approving shouts from the audience.
“It’s ironic that our soldiers are in Kandahar,” he chuckled. Kandahar is Arabic for “Alexander,” which is ironic because Alexander was the first “piece of Euro-trash” to emerge from Europe and trample throughout Asia (there was no mention of any Mongol-trash). Canadian soldiers are following in the great tradition of “ethnic cleansing,” a dismal tradition founded by, to emphasize the term once again, “that piece of Euro-trash.”
It really is too bad that natives in this country have adopted the vocabulary and the demo tactics of the left. Leftist ideology is a cancer, eventually ravaging coherant arguments and transforming them into incomprehensible gibberish from which only the terms “George Bush,” “Organized Religion,” “Racism!,” and “Iraqi Invasion” can be heard.

Peter, maybe this will help explain why Indians have embraced the Left:

Yup, that’s the way to earn respect.
You gotta check out this new Blog - It seams Sean Holman is a guest writer!
And, Carol James and Harry Lali are doing the Titanic!

And I see you are all clamouring to find a way to help the Federal Government (thier jurisdiction, after all) find ways to come up with solutions for the problems these people identified. The Right has ignored the Aboriginal problem as well as the Centre. Isn’t the left the only place left? (All puns intended.)
“The Right has ignored the Aboriginal problem…”
“First Nations Second Thoughts”.
I love that the last paragraph of this post certainly lives up to this sites intention to “provide an intellectually honest viewpoint on the topics of which we write” (click on ‘about’ to see where I got this quote from). For while it certainly lives up to the “honest viewpoint”, which can only be translated as opinion, the term intelectual cannot really apply seeing as that would involve listoning to that “incomprehensible gibberish” and trying to understand it. For only then can you truly have an intelectual argument.
As for the article itself, of course the natives will embrace the left, when over 80% of natives live in abject poverty (less then half the poverty level), what good is the rights philosophy of the ‘invisible hand’ going to do when all its done in the past is slap them.
Nonsense. It’s the hand of the government that has continually slapped natives over the past century. For them to continue turning to government to help them get out of their current circumstances is insanity.
It’s often the quite public hand of their local federally-funded band-council that’s slapping them as well.
Go on to any reserve and ask a random resident who is going to get a house first, who’s going to get a reserve job first. Answer? A councillor’s family member. It’s even worse on reserves that are mostly “self-governed” in terms of child welfare. Which kids’ abuse is going to get overlooked?
Of course Native “leaders” embrace leftist philosophy. Reserves have become cesspools of nepotism, dependence and socialism.
I laugh at the outrage over the sponsorship scandal, in the face of the injustice on reserves across this country.
It’s pretty clear dipshits like Isaiah have never actually KNOWN any Indians (at least any that don’t wear a suit). Go back to Starbucks Isaiah. I’ve known Indians, eaten in thier house at their table. I’ve gone hunting with them and mourned dead family members with them.
Can YOU say the same?
Some are nice some are dicks. Some need to get off their lazy asses and quit playing the victim card and work for their own success. They’re human beings. With all the frailties that entails. Being human, if they can get easy money and still hold the moral high ground by playing victim they will, and they do. So piss off Isaiah.
