Bush on Brokeback Mountain

Hear yea! Hear yea! George Bush has not seen Brokeback Mountain.

Lee Harris, who praises the manliness of the two main characters and has contempt for “gay culture,” explains the movie’s tragic eloquence and why it cannot be portrayed as a “gay polemic.”

  1. What I found amusing (and that no one has seemed to pick up on) is that this film recieved a very large grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

Btw, just because this post has the word “gay” in it, does not mean it needs to be filed under “Religion and Ethics”

  2. ” this film recieved a very large grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.” money well spent… Im glad Im a redneck from Alberta!

  3. Religion and ethics??? The Politic needs to spend a bit more time sucking up to the church. Don’t worry, if gays make God angry, they’ll hear about it upon death, no? So for now let humans live their lives and mind your own business.

  4. Frank: Are you suggesting that these issues have nothing to do with ethics?

  5. I do not think that Bush watching a film or not has anything to do with ethics.
