January 23, 2006 · By H. Cameron

Something to think about on your way to the polls today. Ipsos Reid’s latest polling finds:

Stephen Harper and Conservative Party on Cusp of Majority Win

Grits and Bloc are Battling it Out for Official Opposition as NDP Makes Impressive Gains

Future Parliament: Conservatives 148-152 Seats, Liberals 62-66 Seats, NDP 34-38 Seats, Bloc Quebecois 56-60 Seats.

When you’re done with that poll, head over a take a peek at, The Strategic Counsel poll. Looks like most of the election predications are going to be off, way off.

yikes! talk about completely inaccurate… These polls always seem to way off for some reason. I think they completely over-calculated the support the conservatives could ever dream of achieving. Ontarioians in particular still rememeber the disaster that the Conservatives raped us with - who can blame them for not trusting anything that has to do with conservativism. By the way, Toronto alone (the 5.2 million of the GTA) gives off as much in transfer payments, 11 billion, as does Alberta - why is it that no one here ever complains? What Alberta has yet to figure out is that Conservatives without the gloss of oil money are nothing more than angry, selfish, heart-less people. As soon as the oil money runs out, at least we in Ontario will be there for Alberta without thinking twice. That is what federalism is all about - we’re all family. We’ll forgive you’re growing pains.

without getting into an east west debate, this was a crap prediction and we now how another pretty weak minority. Cons will not be able to introduce any significant legislation with 122 seats and no ideological friends…

Now that Stephen Harper has won, I give it 2 months before we’re known as the United States of Canada.

    That’s my two cents.
