Liberals pander to Quebec, punish the West
July 28, 2005 · By Peter Rempel
Remember when there was speculation that an Albertan would be the next Governor General? Silly goose. You underestimated the Liberal Party’s commitment to Eastern Canada and its vindictiveness toward Alberta. We now know that,
Suprise suprise.

Care to explain your logic in claiming that the selection of the GG has anything to do with the stance of the Federal Liberal party towards Alberta?
Besides – speculation is just that – speculation – like a verbal contract – it’s hardly worth the paper it’s written on. You’d do better to put your money in a slot machine at a casino.
The Liberals could have reached out to Western Canada with their GG selection. Instead they decided to pander to Quebec. Just so everyone’s clear on where the battle lines have been drawn by the federal government.
She’d also be a left-handed black lesbian, Peter, according to Quebeckers’ preferences for leaders in the latest polls.
That’s left-handed black lesbian *francophone*, don’t forget.
Custom of late has been to have someone from english Canada for GG and then french Canada. (that does not mean Quebec)
Perhaps you have the god of Alberta righties, Klein, apply for the job. Of course the fact he doesn’t speak French would end that.
Other Westerners to consider would be Roy from Saskatchewan, Harcourt from BC, would that make you guys feel better?
Wow, is this even news worthy? So what they picked a black woman from Quebec. If Martin had picked an albertan, you would have dismissed it as a cheap meaningless political trick since the position holds no power anyway.
Martin had a decision to make and he chose to pander to the loudest whiny bitches in the country over pandering to the second loudest whiny bitches.
My advice…whine louder next time.
