An Albertan Governor General? Yeah right

July 26, 2005 · By Peter Rempel

Two names being touted to replace Adrienne Clarkson as Governor General were Preston Manning and Joe Clark. Both twits to be sure, but also Albertans. And wouldn’t it be a novelty to have an Albertan in the office of the Governor General?

Today the National Post revealed that such thoughts truly were fantasy. You didn’t really think that a Liberal government which exists solely at the pleasure of Ontario would appoint an Albertan to this position, did you?

Please explain how either Preston Manning or Joe Clark are anymore a twit than you are, Peter.

Please be intellectually honest, and explain rationally and using sane reason.

A few reasons. The most important of which is that eventually they both sold out to central Canada. Although it could be argued that Clark was born sold out.

I was looking for something that was “intellectualy honest.”

What do you mean, they “sold out to central Canada?” Who bought what from whom, Peter? Can you be more specific and point to reality?
