I see where McQuinty says Ontario is 40% more equal than the rest of the provinces. Ontario already has too much control over Canada. It looks like he is encouraging the rest of us to separate if we want any say in our government. OK. He's convinced me!!

Thank you for articulating the "awakenings" of the first generation of Canadians who now fully understand the confederal inequity the west has been burdened with since the original confederal agreement was unilaterally corrupted by a liberal federal regime 25 years ago.

I know Bruce Hutton and have worked with him in various democratic advocacy movements for the past 10 years. Bruce is an ex RCMP officer, a vetern and a loyal and honest Albertan. He, like myself, were once proud Canadians, but we both reached the "tipping" point when we were personally attacked as Albertans by Ottawa...first for our resource wealth and secondly for our individual freedoms and personal property.

To me, and I'm sure Bruce as well, the federal government has become my nemesis with these systemic, focused attacks on Alberts , it's economy, it's culture and its citizen's, rights...I now respond in kind as a separatist having exhausted the megre democratic recourse left to an Albertan in the current inequitable federal system.

I now advocate for western and Alberta independence...it is the only way to preserve a portion of Canada from the failed democracy supported by Ottawa.

We'll see if Ted Morton is elected leader. If not, you're probably right.

I have heartily agreed with the concepts in the firewall ever since they were first made public in the Alberta Report sometime in the 1990s. Being a Report reader Ralph Kein was aware of the firewall concept back then.

These steps will be necessary to have an independant Alberta nation. This is why the Alberta Progressives will never implement them. The site you link to 'Albert Agenda' expects the firewall to be implemented by the Alberta PCs. Dream on. These people didn't use the notwithstanding clause in the Vriend case and they won't implement the firewall either.

The Alberta Progressives(I see little reason to pretend they're conservative) refused to acknowledge the slippery slope that Vriend portended, but seem to see quite clearly where the firewall leads.

Not for nothing did Jean Chretien say that Ralph Klein was "his man" in a statement reported in the Calgary Sun following the 2000 federal election.
