CBC & CTV Pimping For Liberals: Guite’s Testimony
May 4, 2005 · By Tom Cerber
The publication ban on Chuck Guite’s testimony was lifted today. You can check CBC and CTV for details.
However, only Canoe.ca highlights the fact that Paul Martin knew of the plan (as did John Manley). CTV tucks into into a brief sentence; you wouldn’t know Guite mentioned Martin by the headline. CBC, naturally, doesn’t mention anything at all about Guite’s allegation against Martin. I’m sure the CBC would tell us that it would be irresponsible for them to report details of mere allegations. I’m sure we’d all believe them too.
UPDATE: CBC’s early evening news did cover the Paul Martin angle. However, the news reader emphasized that Guite’s new testimony differed from his previous testimony, and that his allegations are unproven if not unprovable. Likely exactly what Brison will be saying tomorrow in QP.
