On Naomi Klein (no relation to Ralph), all I will say is that the report reminded me of a joke I heard years ago about the not-so-friendly dictator of Nicaragua, Anastasio Somoza. In the story, Somoza is rumored to have routinely put on scuba equipment and to have dropped to the bottom of his mansion’s swimming pool. It was a daily ritual, every morning, for a few hours. That was, as the joke went, where he did his best thinking, the dictator had said. He’d go down there to think through the complex problems of State.
